Powering the Future of Space Education
We did it! Thanks to the incredible support of our community, the Planetarium Star Theatre has been successfully upgraded and is now open, delivering the most breathtaking cosmic experience yet.
See the Universe Like Never Before
Our new system is a technical marvel: we are now projecting the cosmos in stunning 10K resolution using six Christie 4K projectors and the NASA-developed OpenSpace platform, turning real mission data into live, immersive 360° journeys.
Your Donation Keeps the Stars Shining
The installation is complete, but the mission continues.
Every gift today ensures we can:
Maintain Excellence: Keep our cutting-edge 10K system operating flawlessly and our educational content up-to-date.
Inspire Community: Continue providing vital, hands-on science education and outreach to local schools and families.
Your support is an investment in the next generation of space enthusiasts. Help us maintain this world-class theatre and continue inspiring thousands of visitors every year!

Why Your Support Matters
The H.R. MacMillan Space Centre Society is a registered non-profit organization that depends on generous community support to provide innovative programs, exhibits, and activities for all ages.
Your generosity
Helps maintain and improve our exhibits
Enables the creation of engaging educational programs
Inspires curiosity and wonder about space and science within our community
Carry on the Philanthropic Spirit That Started the Space Centre
Our story started when Mr. H.R. MacMillan gave an anonymous donation to build a resource centre about space and astronomy for the people of British Columbia. He would later be revealed as the generous donor when we opened our doors on October 26, 1968. Since then, we have had the privilege to continue the mission he started and evolve over the past 52 years to educate and inspire interest in the fields of earth science, space science, and astronomy from a Canadian perspective.
